PERU — Excessive speed and drinking were blamed in a crash that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Rumford man Thursday, state police said.

Killed in the early morning crash was Jason Blouin, who was driving, state police said. A passenger, 27-year-old Michael Cobb of Rumford, was admitted to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Blouin was driving west along state Route 108 in Peru when his vehicle left the road and rolled over repeatedly. Both men were ejected, police said.
