ROCKLAND — The most honored children’s educational program on television turns 25 this month, and in celebration, Maine Public Television will air its locally produced special “Sesame Street: Learning for a Lifetime” at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.
Much of the special was filmed on location at Coastal Childcare in Rockland. Host France Shea will interview child care providers and parents there and discuss the importance of education during a child’s first five years.
The half-hour program will include a celebration of “Sesame Street’s” important role in educating preschoolers with a look at its unique formula for success. Beginning Nov. 22, viewers will be taken “around the corner” to a whole new neighborhood that will include a park and park ranger.
“Sesame Street: Learning for a Lifetime” will also include birthday wishes for the beloved series, delivered by some familiar Maine personalities.
