PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s chapter of Amnesty International will sponsor a human rights awareness seminar to commemorate International Human Rights Day on Friday, Dec. 10.

The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. at the Learning Center in South Hall.

Organizers will discuss the effects of human rights violations and how to support the protection of human rights.

During the workshop, the group also will present a video on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and will hold a letter-writing session.

Refreshments will be served and the event is open to the public.
