VAN BUREN – Travis Vaillancourt’s basket with 40 seconds left to play in overtime gave Van Buren the lead for good and the Crusaders held on for a 60-55 overtime win over Ashland in a schoolboy basketball game Tuesday night.

Todd Ayotte scored 13 points, Peter Dolinsky had 12 points and 13 rebounds; and Corey Poitras added 10 points and 14 boards for the Crusaders.

Ryan Caron scored 16 points for the Hornets. Zack Kinnear had 15 points and Dean Rafford 14.

Coffin scored 14 of his 16 points in the third, and Manchester scored 13 of his 20 as Machias turned a 30-23 halftime lead into a 60-29 advantage after three. Steven Dube added 11 points and Joey Cherry had 10 for the ‘Dogs.

Bryan Murphy led the Hornets with 13 points, while Jonathan Moors scored 11 and Jared Hood had 10.
