CALAIS – Josh Delmonaco knocked down three 3-pointers in the third quarter, lifting Calais to a 31-28 schoolboy basketball victory over Shead of Eastport in a low-scoring affair here Thursday night.
The Blue Devils stubbornly held the ball, waiting for the Tigers to come out of their zone defense. However, Shead didn’t give ground until the hosts went ahead late.
Delmonaco’s nine points paced Calais, while Lloyd Ayer netted seven, all in the fourth quarter. Scott Hill pulled down 13 rebounds.
Scott Marsh tossed in 10 points and Jason Cook added eight for the Tigers.
