SKOWHEGAN — Somerset County Sheriff Spencer R. Havey is hospitalized once again with complaints of chest pains.
Havey has suffered from heart problems since July 1992.
According to Chief Deputy Michael Brown, Havey left his Skowhegan office Wednesday to walk to a business appointment. He went instead to his wife’s office and asked to be driven to the hospital. He was admitted to Redington-Fairview General Hospital for evaluation and testing.
Brown said Havey had suffered from flu symptoms earlier in the week. Hospital officials told Brown that Havey was resting comfortably while a decision was being made on treatment.
Michael Havey, the sheriff’s son, said his father remained hospitalized Thursday undergoing tests. He may be transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center for additional testing or treatment.
