To the driver of the 18-wheeler who stopped to help the Maine college students in the miserably cold early hours of Wednesday, Dec. 29 — as parents of one of those students, we thank you, sincerely.
Just to notice the disabled car between Wells and Kennebunk, to stop to assist them, then to follow them through the next exit to make sure they found a garage — you went far beyond “just helping”; you really cared.
There is great risk in being a good Samaritan these days. A person may put himself in danger in stopping on the highway. No one else even slowed down to see what might be wrong. But you did.
