HAMPDEN – The Hampden Broncos outscored the Wildcats by 10 points in the third quarter while pulling away to a 52-34 schoolgirl basketball victory over Presque Isle here Saturday.

Emily Leavitt scored 18 points to pace Hampden, while twin sister Eryn Leavitt scored 11 points and snatched 18 rebounds. Shelly Worthley added eight points and four assists.

Rachel Underwood paced Presque Isle with eight points.

At Caribou, the Vikings used a balanced-scoring attack and strong rebounding to defeat the Warriors Saturday.

Eric Salminen led all scorers with 17 points while also grabbing seven rebounds, Toby Newbegin added 14 points, Bret Doody added 14 points and seven rebounds, Chris Funk poured in 11 points, and Bob St. Peter scored 10 points and had nine rebounds.

Alan Emery scored 16 points to lead the Nokomis attack, and Jody Grant added 14 points.
