An organizational meeting to plan the town’s 150th birthday celebration will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the municipal building. Anyone interested in being on a committee is invited to attend.

Bradford

Bradford Senior Citizens will hold a luncheon meeting at 11:30 this morning at the town hall.

Bradley

The Fire Department will meet at 7 tonight at the fire station. The Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the town office.

Carmel

The zoning board of appeals will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building to consider a variance.

The selectmen will hold a workshop at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building.

There will be a rabies clinic from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building. The cost is $8 an animal.

Tax liens from 1991 must be paid before Monday, Jan. 17, or the property will become owned by the town. A rabies clinic will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building. Cost is $8.

Clifton

The selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at the town office.

Corinth

The budget committee and selectmen will meet jointly at 7 tonight at the town office.

Articles for the annual town meeting must be submitted by Thursday, Jan. 20.

Dixmont

The Dixmont United Methodist Church will hold a public breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15. Adults $4, children $2, under 5 for free.

The Dixmont Ambulance will have training from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, on trauma assesment with guest Rick Petrie. All members must attend.

The selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building.

Eddington

Taxes for 1991 must be paid by Friday, Jan. 14, to avoid foreclosure.

The town office will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, for Martin Luther King Day.

Etna

The Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight Jan12, at the town hall.

Hampden

The Planning Board will meet at 7 tonight at the municipal building.

The recreation committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the municipal building.

Members of the Hampden Academy Band will sell Hampden 1994 Bicentennial Calendars door-to-door throughout the town beginning Saturday, Jan. 15, to help fund their trip to Washington, D.C.

The conservation committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the municipal building.

The bicentennial steering committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building.

Hampden Trails will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the municipal building.

Holden

Christmas trees may be brought to the recycling center on Sparks Avenue in Brewer before Wednesday, Jan. 19, or dropped off at the Holden Town Garage anytime.

Hudson

Dog licenses are due Wednesday, Jan. 1. A $3 late fee will be applied after Jan. 31, 1994.

Adult volleyball is held at 7 p.m. every Monday at the town hall.

Kenduskeag

Those interested in Department of Environmental Protection assistance in replacing septic systems should contact the town office by noon Saturday, Jan. 15.

Levant

Selectmen will meet at 7 tonight at the town office.

The recycling committee will meet at 7 tonight at the town hall.

Newburgh

The Snowmobile Club will hold a board meeting at 7:30 tonight at the home of Wayne Young.

The volunteer fire department will hold a training session at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the fire station.

Orono

Curbside pickup of Christmas trees will be this morning.

Recycling pickup is Thursday and Friday, Jan. 13 and 14.

The town office and library will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, for Martin Luther King Day.

The Town Council’s operations committee will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the town office.

Nomination papers for positions on the town council and school committee are available at the town office and must be returned by Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Orrington

There will be a rabies clinic open to all area residents from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the El Rancho Kennels on the corner of Johnson Mill Rd. and Center Drive in Orrington. Rabies and distemper shots will be available for cats and dogs. The cost is $5 a shot.

Christmas trees will not be picked up at the curbside. They may be brought to the public works garage where the recycling committee will collect them.
