Steve and Annie Chapman, gospel musicians and authors of “Married Lovers, Married Friends,” will present a marriage seminar and a concert on Saturday, Jan. 22, at Bangor Baptist Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor. The events are sponsored by WHCF-FM 88.5 radio.

The seminar will be presented at 3 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. The cost of attending is $5 for the afternoon, and $5 for the evening.

Raised in the mountains of West Virginia, Steve and Annie Chapman write, play and sing songs that deal with interpersonal relationships. They use scripture and personal testimony for the source of their material.

Both born-again Christians since they were teen-agers, the Chapmans married in 1975 and joined the singing group, Dogwood. In 1981, they pursued their ministry together through an affiliation with Star Song Records in Houston.

They have recorded numerous albums, including a musical focusing on family commitment. They have also written a second book, “Gifts That Kids Can’t Break,” and have been featured in Dr. James Dobson’s film series, “Turn Your Heart Toward Home.”

The Chapmans, who now live in Tennessee with their two children, have also been guests on Dobson’s radio program, “Focus on the Family.”

In addition to married couples, the Chapmans encouraged engaged couples and adult single people to participate in the seminar.

Tickets may be obtained through WHCF, Box 5000, Bangor 04402. For information, call the radio station at 947-2751.
