There will be a rabies clinic from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at the municipal building, for Alton and Argyle petowners. The charge will be $5 per animal. Dog licenses for 1994 will also be available.

Dog licenses are due for 1994. Be sure to bring rabies verification and spaying or neutering records. A $3 late fee will be applied after Monday, Jan. 31, 1994.

Bradford

Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the town hall, followed by a public budget meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Dog licenses for 1994 are available at the town hall for dogs 6 months and older. Dogs must be licensed by Jan. 31 or owners will incur a $3 fee by the state. After April 30 the late fee will be $10.

Nomination papers are available for the following offices and must be returned to the town office by Friday, Feb. 11: one three-year term for selectman; one three-year term for School Board; one three-year term for director of Hospital Administrative District 64.

Bradley

The School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Viola Rand School.

Carmel

The zoning board of appeals will hold a public hearing at 7 tonight at the municipal building to consider a variance request by Michael Emery of Michaels Drive to allow him to keep his garage closer to the right of way than is permitted.

Corinth

Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the town office.

Articles for the annual town meeting must be submitted by Thursday, Jan. 20.

Eddington

The Eddington School Gym will be open for adult basketball from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Sunday beginning Jan. 23. Basketballs will be provided. There is no fee. For more information, call 843-6468.

Hampden

The Bicentennial Steering Committee will meet at 7 tonight at the municipal building.

Hampden Trails will meet at 7 tonight at the municipal building.

The Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the municipal building.

Hampden 1994 bicentennial calendars, license plates and suncatchers are available at the town office. Calendars are $8; license plates, $7; and suncatchers, $12. Sweatshirts, hats and T-shirts are also available.

Meals for Me meets at noon every Thursday at the Hampden Kiwanis Hall on Main Road, including a hot meal, beano and other activities. Persons age 60 and over are asked to donate $2.50 per meal; those under 60 are asked to donate $4.85. To make a reservation, call 941-2865.

The Hampden Food Cupboard will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday at the Kiwanis Center. The Food Cupboard needs a volunteer social worker. Anyone interested may call the town office, 862-3034.

At 6:30 p.m. tonight, The Mystic Masonic Lodge will host a Highlander Unit and Third Degree followed by supper at the Hampden lodge.

Hermon

The Economic Development Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the municipal building.

The Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the municipal building.

The Hermon Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at the municipal building. Linwood Littlefield will speak and show a video about the first 100 years of the B&A Railroad.

Holden

Hudson

There will be a rabies clinic from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the town hall. The fee will be $8 per shot. Dog licenses were due Wednesday, Jan. 1. A $3 late fee will be applied after Jan. 31, 1994.

Kenduskeag

Newburgh

The Newburgh Snowmobile Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at the fire station.

The selectmen’s meeting for February has been changed to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7.

Dog licenses for 1994 are available and are due by Jan. 31. A $3 late fee will be charged after that date.

Nomination papers are available at the town clerk’s office for the following positions and must be returned by Feb. 1: third selectman, town clerk, treasurer, and school board director.

Town books close Tuesday, Feb. 15. After that date outstanding taxes will be printed in the town report.

Men’s basketball will be held from 10 a.m.-noon Sundays through April except during school vacations at the Newburgh Elementary School.

Trash must be outside by 7 a.m. each Friday to guarantee pickup.

Orrington

Adult basketball, sponsored by the Rec Committee, will be held Sundays at Center Drive School with the court available 4-6:30 p.m. for women and 6:30 on for men. Cost is $1 per day or $5 for the season.

Winterport

Nomination papers for town offices are available at the town office. They are due Friday, Feb. 11.

The Planning Board will hold a public hearing during their regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20 at the town office. On the agenda will be the amandments to the land use ordinance.

The Recreation Committee will hold public skating from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, Feb. 6, and Feb. 13, next to the recretion building.

An open men’s basketball gym for Winterport residents will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday at the Wagner School. The cost is $2 per person. Contact the rec committee at 223-5055 for more information.
