DOVER-FOXCROFT — International Women’s Day will be celebrated from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, with free events at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA, sponsored by Womancare Aegis Association.

“This will be a day to accept, explore, nurture and empower the many facets of womanhood,” said Terri Ann Bourke, an organizer of the event.

Bourke said speakers and their topics will include Donna Kraft Smith, R.M.T., on “Acupressure for Headaches and Migraines”; Alec Craig on “Bridge Stories”; Lee Anne Berry, M.D., on “Menopause”; Cheryl Allen on “Creative Movement”; Susan Conroy on “Working in Calcutta, India, with Mother Teresa”; Annalee Libby on “Berenice Abbott — The Photographer and the Person”; and Anne S. Johnson on “Healthy Communities.” There also will be a concert.

Also available to the public will be exhibits and booths, including minimassages for the head, neck and feet; books of interest for women; a graffiti singing wall; candles to light for joys and concerns; and complimentary lap swim passes at the YMCA for Saturday.

International coffees and finger foods will be available during the lunch break and presentations. Free baby-sitting services will be provided for those attending the celebration.
