ROCKLAND — Open Airways is a four-week program that helps children and their families understand and take care of their asthma on a day-to-day basis. The next session of Open Airways will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, and will meet every Thursday through March 31, at the Knox Center for Long Term Care, White Street, Rockland.
For parents, the sessions provide information about asthma, its causes and effects, and how to monitor it at home. Children learn about such things as nutrition and breathing exercises in a light-hearted atmosphere.
For more information, call Vicki Harriman at the Penobscot Bay Medical Center Education Department, 596-8442.
