At Lake Wales, Fla., Jamie Pete tossed a three-hitter to lead Husson College to a 3-2 win over Milligan College, and the Braves dropped a later game to Warner Southern, 7-5, to move to 7-4 on their southern trip.
Pete wasn’t overpowering in the opener, recording no strikeouts, but gave up no earned runs in improving to 2-1. Troy Martin ripped an RBI triple for the Braves, while Matt Eastman had two singles and two RBIs.
Milligan of Tennessee dropped to 4-12.
In the nightcap, Chad Crosby had a two-run home run in the second inning to lead Warner Southern, 10-15, to the win.
Bill Swift hit a 3-run homer in the second fifth inning for the Braves. It was the second round-tripper of the season for the first baseman.
