Rita Sullivan, a junior co-captain on the University of Maine basketball team, has been named to the GTE CoSida District I Academic All-America second team for the university division. Winners are chosen by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America in the New York-New England region.

Sullivan, a journalism major from Bangor, has compiled a 3.79 GPA over five semesters. She averaged five points, four rebounds and 24 minutes per game as a starter for the Black Bears this season.
