The addition of WMEF (106.5 FM) in Fort Kent this month as Maine Public Radio’s sixth station increases its statewide coverage to include all corners of the state.
Because Fort Kent’s valley location makes receiving long-distance radio signals difficult, MPR will become virtually the only Maine station readily available to more than 4,000 northern Aroostook Country residents.
MPR will hit the airwaves in Fort Kent on March 25, in time for that night’s 5:30 broadcast of “Maine Things Considered.”
