Late notices were issued Monday to Bangor’s 3,000 residents who are delinquent on their sewer bills.
Residents who received the late notices have 30 days in which to pay the bill or establish a payment schedule with the Wastewater Treatment Plant. If the six-month payment schedules are maintained, the city will not file a lien against the property, as the law allows.
A sewer lien, which carries all the weight of a property-tax lien, can mature in 1 1/2 years.
