MILBRIDGE — An open house will be held in late April at Machias for 10 students from the Western Washington County Building Trades Program at Machias High School. They are participating in a two-week Habitat for Humanity project in Florida.

Derek Green, spokesman for the Washington-Hancock Community Agency in Milbridge, said Tuesday that the anti-poverty agency’s staff, and families of the students raised $300 in a recent bottle drive to pay for some of the students’ trip to Florida.

Green said the students, Robert Farnsworth, Danny Chausse, Frankie Reynolds, Donnie Rumery, Marcus Norton, Jason Vane, Shawn Look, Steven Beal, Darren Roberts and Wade Preston were accompanied to Florida by instructor Jim White and assistant instructor David Hostetter.
