MADISON — Police are still seeking the slayer of a Madison man, more than a week after Raynald Levesque, 55, was found shot to death in his kitchen.
Levesque, owner of the Madison Area Recycling and Redemption Center, which is located next to the Madison High School, was discovered dead Wednesday, April 6.
“There is nothing new in this case,” said Capt. Charles Love, supervisor of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Maine State Police. “We have a number of detectives in that area and will remain there for a while.”
Love would not release any information regarding whether police believed the murderer to still be in the area or a possible motive for the crime.
Little information has been released regarding the circumstances of the shooting because state police investigators believe that information is key to solving the crime.
State and local police conducted roadside checks, interviewed area residents and students at the high school. They also made videotapes of motor vehicles that pass the business place during the morning hours.
Sgt. Steven Drake is in charge of the investigation and anyone with information they believe useful may call the Maine State Police at 1-800-452-4664 or the Madison Police Department at 696-5373.
