WATERVILLE – Bowdoin utilized six walks and two hits to score five runs in the sixth inning and defeated Colby 6-3 in college baseball action Friday.
Mark McCormack paced the 5-5 Polar Bears with two singles and a double, while David Palmer added a solo homer and a single. Jeff D’Entremont scattered five hits over nine innings to pick up the win.
For 3-11 Colby, Jared DeShaw had three singles.

Bowdoin sweeps Husson
At Brunswick, Bowdoin pitcher Donna Strohmeyer led the Polar Bears to 4-3 and 11-10 victories over Husson.
In the second game, Strohmeyer (3-2) scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth and got the victory for Bowdoin, pitching two innings in relief. Strohmeyer also pitched the opener, driving in Amy Aselton for the winning run, also in the bottom of the eighth. Strohmeyer had six hits all together.
Aselton also had six hits overall, and Kelly Albansese drove in five runs in the second game.
Connie Keene led the Braves with four hits. Denise Schier and Chris Longton each had three hits, and Marie Lampart led Husson with three RBI.
