ORONO — Public Health Nurse Carolyn Capialo, who soon will resign her position, urges residents to take advantage of a blood pressure and cholesterol screening clinic set for Thursday, April 21, at the Anderson Community Center.

This will be the first such public health screening clinic held in Orono in quite a while, said the public health nurse.

Capialo said she will take an administrative position with the Community Health and Counseling Service, and did not know when the next clinic would be available.

The clinic, which will be held from 9 a.m. until the last person is treated, will be conducted by registered nurses in the Health Heart Program out of Eastern Maine Medical Center.

There is a small charge for the service, said Capialo.

The Healthy Heart Program will provide literature for anyone interested in reducing fat intake and starting a healthier diet.

For patients who need it, after the results of the tests are known, referral services are available for additional examinations.
