Bouchard picked to play in All-Star game

University of Maine senior forward Francois Bouchard, the team’s leading scorer and rebounder this past season, is one of three players affiliated with Maine colleges who will play in the New England Basketball Coaches Association-sponsored senior all-star games on Thursday at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Mass.

Old Orchard Beach’s Bouchard, who averaged more than 15 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Bears, will play for the Division I all-stars against the Division II stars.

The other players picked from Maine schools were Steve Schuler of St. Joseph’s College in Standish and Rob Laprise of the University of Southern Maine. They will play for the Division III East stars against the Division III West stars.

The Division III game will open the evening at 6, and that will be followed by the Division I vs. Division II contest.
