MACHIAS – Brian Sherman pitched a no-hitter to lead the Woodland Dragons to a 9-0 schoolboy baseball win over the Machias Bulldogs here Monday.

Sherman struck out 12.

Brian MacArthur and Nate Martell each singled, doubled and drove in a run for the winners, while Joe Viselli singled twice and had one RBI.

At Harrington on Saturday, Dan Curtis drove in five runs and Keegan Beal drove home four to lift the Knights past the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Beal doubled and singled for the winners and Curtis singled twice. Cameron Grant added two singles and an RBI.

Joey Sites singled twice for Sumner and James Schwartz had a run-producing double.

At Eastport, the Knights from Harrington turned 13 first-inning walks into 11 runs and rolled to the lopsided win.

Lindsey Smith led the Knights with a single, double, triple, and two RBIs. Hillary Strout added three singles and a double, driving in two runs.

Joni Kinney drove in four runs for Shead with a homer and two singles.

Erica McCarthy drove in two runs with a double and a single for Houlton.

At Fort Kent, RBI singles by Sherry Campagna and Dawn Bouchard highlighted the Warriors’ seven-run surge in the first inning that was helped by three Van Buren errors. Michelle Levasseur pitched a four-hitter, striking out four, to gain her fifth victory.

At Hodgdon, Lisa Campbell had five hits, including a homer and a double, and drove in four runs and Kerri Ivey knocked in eight runs with a homer, two triples and a double to guide Hodgdon past East Grand of Danforth.

Bethany Edwards, Wendy Ivey, and Jessica White also had four hits apiece as Edwards hit for the cycle and knocked in six runs, Ivey had a triple and three singles good for five RBIs, and White had a double and three singles that produced four runs. Kara Crane had a pair of three-run homers and Huhunna White hit a two-run shot. White and Caroline Meek combined on a one-hitter.

Katie Cropley had East Grand’s only hit, an RBI single.

At Limestone, Jessica Walker’s efforts on the mound and at the plate led the Southern Aroostook Warriors of Dyer Brook to victory. Walker went the distance as the winning pitcher and added four singles and four RBIs on offense. Holly Slauenwhite hit three singles and had one RBI, and Erica Larson added two singles and two RBIs.

Tina Tobin led the Eagles with three singles, and Becky Rhome had a double and two RBIs.

At Sherman Station, Angela Cullens and Amanda Robinson drove in two runs apiece and Terri Craig scattered seven hits as Katahdin triumphed.

Cullens had a double and two singles and Robinson had a double and a single. Jodi Dyer had a run-scoring triple for the winners while Craig and Jaime Dyer had two singles each.

Alicia Nason and Beth Hunter had a double and a single apiece for Ashland.
