ST. AGATHA — The town of St. Agatha has been invited into Phase II competition for $10,000 General Purpose Planning Grant by the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development.
The grant, according to Town Manager David P. Daigle, would be used to further develop plans for sewer line extensions in the St. John Valley town. The proposed area of study is along Route 162 north and southwest of the village, Cleveland Road and Factory Brook Road.
The work will be coordinated by the town’s Community Development Office and will include a door-to-door income and septic system survey, soil borings and an engineering evaluation of options including updated or construction cost estimates for each area.
If approved, the grant would identify sewer extension and household needs. Future applications, based on the study, would seek construction funds.
