PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle pitchers held the Nokomis Warriors to 10 hits in two games to take a twinbill sweep 7-4 and 19-0 in schoolboy baseball action Thursday.

The Wildcats’ Adam Daigle notched the win in the first game and Hume Pierce recorded the victory in the second.

The Wildcats took advantage of four Nokomis walks for a four-run third inning in the first game as David Allen delivered a two-run single.

Ron Doughty paced the ‘Cats in the second game with a three-run double and sacrifice fly. Chuck Brown and Paul Ballerstine each added two singles and two RBI. Pierce chipped in with a two-run single and sacrifice fly.

At Hodgdon, a 3-3 seventh-inning tie was broken when Houlton’s Mike Henderson doubled in two runs and Dean Willard hit an inside-the-park home run to score three to give the visitors the victory.

Andy Wright had two singles for the visitors while Arron Henderson singled twice and Larry Carll drove in two runs with his single for the Hawks.

At Sherman Station, James Mitchell struck out 13 batters on mound and drove in four runs with a solo homer and two doubles to lead the Cougars.

Luke Cullins rapped three singles and collected three RBI for the winners, while Sam Shippee singled, doubled and drove in a run.

At Washburn, Corey Searles struck out six batters en route to a five-inning no-hitter.

Ryan Bealieu homered and doubled and drove in four runs for Van Buren, while Searles and Travis Lajoie each had two singles and an RBI.

At Fort Kent, the Warriors turned five hits, six walks and a Madawaska error into a 12-run fifth-inning that erased a 11-6 deficit and paved the way to a victory.

Corey Thibodeau had a home run, a single and knocked in three runs for Fort Kent, while Jason Nadeau rapped four singles and had three RBI. Eric Raymond ripped a two-run homer to key the fifth-inning uprising.

Randy Bourgoin had three singles and three RBI to lead Madawaska.

At Machias, Ryan Leighton, Robbie Worcester and Peter Joyce each singled twice and knocked in two runs during a 20-run third inning for Narraguagus of Harrington.

Dan Curtis drove in four runs with a double and two singles for the winners.

Aaron Coffin singled, doubled and scored two runs for Machias.

At Fort Kent, the Warriors held off a five-run Madawaska rally in the seventh inning. Lisa Beaulieu had a two-run single and Audrey Baker an RBI triple in that inning for the Owls.

Sherry Campagna had a single, double, and three RBI for Fort Kent. Kim Doustou added a single for two RBI.

Beaulieu had three singles for three RBI overall. Baker had a single and a triple for two RBI.

At Limestone, Sonya Butts led the way with two singles and a double; Kelly Hartman singled twice; Tori Freitas singled twice driving in three runs, and Tina Tobin had two singles to pace the Eagles over the Pioneers.

At Sherman Station, Angela Collins slammed three doubles to drive in three runs to help the Cougars beat the Wolverines of East Millinocket.

Jamie Dyer added a double and three singles for the winners and Terry Craig doubled, singled, and drove in a run. Lindsey Bocchiere chipped in with a double and single while Amanda Robinson had a triple, single and two RBI.

At Washburn, Lori Morrow was a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, a single, and three RBI to help the Crusaders win the slugfest.

Michelle Sirois added four singles and three RBI for the winners and Amy Butler had three singles and a double.

Amy O’Donnell cranked a two-run homer and doubled for Washburn while Courtney Flewelling slammed a two-run homer and singled.

At Presque Isle, the Wildcats swept a doubleheader from the Warriors with a come-from-behind victory in the second game.

With PI down 10-4 at the bottom of the fifth, Andrea White singled, moved to second on a passed ball and was doubled home one pitch later by Heather Norsworthy who had a big day for the winners with two singles, the double and three runs batted in.

Cortney Arndt went 3-for-3 with a double and two singles and Nicole Gamblin had two singles and two runs batted in for PI.

Presque Isle dominated the first game as Shari Scullion went 4-for-4 with a triple and three singles with two RBIs and Gamblin went 3-4 with a triple and two singles. Joy Rayburn’s single and double drove in two runs.

At Machias, Jodi Wood singled home Julie Nelson in the eighth to give the Bulldogs the victory.

Nelson paced the winners with a two-run homer, triple and single. Sara Smith added three singles and two RBI while Gina Grange and Wood each singled twice.

Venice Bayard had three singles for the Knights of Harrington and Hillary Strout doubled and singled.
