BREWER – Tim Patchell pitched a three-hit shutout Wednesday, leading the Brewer Falcons to a 1-0 American Legion baseball win over Waldo County at Heddericg Field.

Patchell (2-0) had nine strikouts en route to a complete game.

Brewer’s lone run came on a two-out RBI single by Mike Tardif, driving in Jason Orcutt from second. Orcutt had reached on a walk by Waldo pitcher Bobby Hughes and stole second.

Hughes allowed only one run on four hits, all singles. For Waldo, both Jason York and Chris Steiner had base hits.

At Mahaney Diamond in Orono, Jeff Fogg hit a two-run homer and singled to lead the Old Town-Orono Double O’s to the Eastern Maine Amateur Baseball League win over Bucksaver.

For Old Town-Orono, Dana Andrews singled twice.

Troy Varney singled and drove in a run for Bucksaver.
