BANGOR – Righthander Chad Scripture fired a five-hitter to outduel Ben Jenkins and lead the undefeated Bangor Comrades to a 4-2 Zone 1 American Legion baseball win over Brewer at Mansfield Complex Tuesday night.
Scripture struck out four and walked two to notch the win. Jenkins pitched a six-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks.
Bangor rallied from a 2-1 deficit to take the lead for good with a two-run third inning. Scott Shaw singled and was doubled home by Eric Murray, who eventually scored on Josh Jamieson’s base hit.
Murray and Shaw each had a double and a single and an RBI for the winners.
Mike Tardif doubled and Tim Patchell had an RBI single for Brewer.

At Belfast, Jack Gallager drove in George Tripp and Jason York with the tying and winning runs in the fourth inning for Waldo County.
Winning pitcher Bobby Hughes (1-2) had five strikeouts, and aided his own cause with a two-run homer in the third.
For Skowhegan, Greg Damaki had two RBIs, and Cory Hight, Chad Ward, and Jason Tibbits all scored.

At Ellsworth High School, southpaw Gary Sibley fired a four-hitter, striking out six and walking two, and Andy Trice paced a 10-hit attack with three singles as Old Town-Orono triumphed.
Chris Hashey’s two-run single in the first inning gave Sibley the only run support he was to need. Tim LePage had an RBI double for the winners.
J.T. Loomis had an RBI single for Trenton.

At Orono, Dave Foran, Rick Wickett, and Matt Mahar combined on a four-hitter, striking out 10 and not walking anybody.
Troy Martin opened the game with a homer for the winners and added a two-run single. Frank Peckham had a triple, double, single, and three RBIs, and Billy Swift homered, doubled, and drove in two runs.
For Central Maine, Mark Reed had a triple and Carl Cobb and Ryan Dearborn each had run-scoring singles.
