Sunrise broke through the clouds in its first season competing in Little League All-Star competition by capturing the Downeast Division championship Monday night.
Sunrise rolled past Calais 24-2 to advance to a District 3 showdown with Millinocket, the champ of the North Division. Sunrise will take on Millinocket on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Steuben.
The Sunrise stars are players from the Narraguagus area schools along with Gouldsboro and Steuben.
In other All-Star competition, Brewer beat Millinocket 10-6 in Senior League baseball action and the Acadians tripped up Machias 12-9 in Senior LL softball play.
Millinocket and Brewer will battle for the Senior League title on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Mansfield Complex in Bangor.
The Acadians advanced to a Tuesday contest vs. Bucksport at the Mount Desert Island High School field. Machias was eliminated.
Meanwhile, in Little League softball action, Moosabec defeated Bangor West 20-7. Bucksport will host Moosabec on Wednesday.

Sunrise 24, Calais 2
At Steuben, righthander Jesse Stewart fashioned a two-hitter while striking out 11 and walking only three to give Sunrise the victory.
Kip Stubbs and Laura Morse backed Stewart as Stubbs drove in five runs and Morse plated four. Stubbs had a bases-loaded triple. Shawn Roy chipped in with three singles.
Sunrise, which committed one error, has made one or no errors in each of its five playoff games.
James Frost slapped an RBI single for Calais.

Brewer 10, Millinocket 6
At Mansfield Complex, Mike Kane scattered seven hits while striking out nine to help Brewer win.
Bruce Morneault backed Kane with a two-run double and Mike Dupuy singled twice. Kane added an RBI double.
Steve Osborne and Steve Jameson each notched an RBI and two singles for Millinocket.

Acadians 12, Machias 9
At Machias, the hosts held their opponents to just three hits, but the Acadians took advantage of 12 walks to post the win.
Riley McIsaac had a single and three RBIs to lead the winners. Ingrid Sunberg doubled while Lacy Richards had an RBI single.
Carolyn Luce rapped two doubles, two singles and drove in four runs to pace Machias. Sherri Pritchard added three singles and two RBIs, while Michelle Hussey singled twice.

Moosabec 20, Bangor West 7
At Bangor, Moosabec took advantage of 17 walks to turn in an opportunistic win over Bangor West.
Angela Merchant had a two-run double to pace Mossabec.
Molly Wiebe ripped a two-run homer for Bangor West.
