ORONO — The rights and responsibilities of school publication advisers will be the subject of a one-day workshop by Mark Goodman, executive director of the Student Press Law Center, Washington, D.C., at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the University of Maine.

Topics include law, reaching readers, newspaper and curriculum, publishing business, and survival. A computer session will be held at the Department of Communication and Journalism at Lord Hall. Local journalists, school advisers and faculty members at UMaine will lead some workshop sessions.
