BANGOR — A Bangor man was taken to the hospital by ambulance Thursday afternoon when he received injuries in a two-car collision in front of Miller’s Restaurant on Main Street.

Bangor Police Department Commanding Officer Lt. Roy McKinney said a 1989 two-door Volkswagen operated by Jennifer Nadeau, 20, of Old Town collided with a 1991 two-door Mercury owned and operated by Arthur Eaton, 72, of Bangor.

Damage to the Nadeau vehicle was estimated at $1,500 and police listed damage to Eaton’s vehicle at $4,000.

Nadeau pulled out of the restaurant’s parking lot and turned left into the path of the Eaton vehicle which was traveling south. The Eaton vehicle had the right of way, said Lt. McKinney.

Nadeau told police that she had stopped and looked before entering Main Street, but her view was obscured by parked cars.

Eaton, who was not wearing a seat belt, received chest and neck injuries.

A passenger in the Nadeau vehicle, Christopher Steffens, 24, complained of a bruised rib area.
