ELLSWORTH — The American Red Cross is asking blood donors to help in its Super Summer blood drive, 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Ellsworth City Hall.
Donors are on vacation during the summer, leaving blood supplies at emergency levels, said Elizabeth Dole, American Red Cross president. The supply is only days ahead of patient demands.
Donors must be at least 18 years old, or 17 with a signed parental consent form, in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and have no history of exposure to hepatitis or the AIDS virus. For information, call 1-800-922-4376.
