SKOWHEGAN — The final two days of the Skowhegan State Fair, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19 and 20, will include livestock judging, sheep judging and horse pulling.
The fair’s eighth annual flower show will be held at 1, 3:30 and 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Three professional designers and two commentators will be featured each day.
Friday will feature 4-H dairy judging, sheep judging and the 4-H Youth Leadline show. Also on Friday will be the draft horse show at 9 a.m. and a log yarding contest at 7 p.m.
The fair’s harness racing season climaxes on Saturday with the running of the traditional Walter H. Hight Memorial Pace.
At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, children can participate in the pig scramble and a barrel racing show will be held at 1 and 7 p.m. Other final day events include an open donkey and mule show at 4 p.m. and a championship truck pull at 8 p.m.
The fair maintains a $7 pay-one-price ticket that includes gate admission, coliseum events, harness racing, grandstand entertainment and unlimited midway rides.
