VAN BUREN — Borderview Manor, a Van Buren nursing home, is gearing up for for its second annual corn boil and bonfire. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. Friday.
According to nursing home officials, last year’s event was such a success that organizers decided to expand it this year.
Added to last year’s lineup of fresh corn of the cob, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows are an appearance by the Clearly Country Band, a sing-along and a visit by MicMacs and Maliseets, who will pitch a tepee outside the nursing home early Friday and perform traditional chants for residents.
The event is not only for residents and staff. Family and friends also are invited.
