SAN DIEGO – Ross MacDonald of Canada won the second leg of the 73rd Star class world sailing championship Monday to take the overall lead in the six-race competition.
Alan Adler of Brazil finished second to move into second place overall. John Kostecki of Bangor, Maine, followed Sunday’s victory with a ninth-place finish to drop to third overall.
Ninety-seven boats representing 22 countries are competing in the regatta conducted by the San Diego Yacht Club.
