VAN BUREN — A Van Buren woman was injured Wednesday when the car she was riding in was struck from behind by another vehicle on Main Street.
Jackie LaBreck, 48, was taken by ambulance to Cary Medical Center in Caribou after complaining about neck pain, said Van Buren Police Chief Jean Michaud.
The accident occurred when Roy Labreck of Van Buren, who was traveling north in a 1987 Plymouth sedan, applied his brakes to slow down while approaching railroad tracks near the intersection of Main and State streets.
LaBreck’s vehicle was struck from behind by a 1984 Mercury sedan driven by 22-year-old Michael Corbin, also of Van Buren, Michaud said.
Jackie LaBreck, a passenger in Roy LaBreck’s vehicle, was the only person injured in the accident and was released later Wednesday afternoon.
Michaud estimated damage to the front bumper of Corbin’s car at about $300. The LaBreck vehicle was not damaged.
