A recent poll of American citizens indicated what the pollsters called “shocking results.” It appears the majority of Americans polled were willing to give up some of their constitutional rights in the battle against crime. If the results of this poll are accurate it is just another example of the majority being wrong. Popular sentiment may win elections, but it doesn’t always indicate good sense.
As an American whose family has fought in every war this country was ever engaged in, I’m not about to let the results of their sacrifices be given away by a bunch of weak-willed, spineless idiots.
We don’t need to give away our rights, we need to demand them. Demand the right to travel freely, without fear from criminals or unreasonable stop and search. Demand the right to protect ourselves, families, and property and demand the right to speak out against the loss of personal freedom.
I was born a free man and intend to die that way and when I do I’ll pass along that freedom to my children.
The next time someone starts talking about giving up our rights, stand up for yours. W. Arthur Langford Dixmont
