BAR HARBOR — The Maine State Society Children of the American Revolution will hold a field day on Mount Desert Island on Sept. 24. The day will begin with a breakfast meeting at the Rinehart Dining Pavillion and end with a boat cruise in Frenchman Bay.

BAR HARBOR — The Maine State Society Children of the American Revolution will hold a field day on Mount Desert Island on Sept. 24. The day will begin with a breakfast meeting at the Rinehart Dining Pavillion and end with a boat cruise in Frenchman Bay.

The Maine Society, organized in Portland in 1896, is planning its 100th birthday. The Fort O’Brien Society of Machias, the Moses Greenleaf Society of Bangor, the William Fairfield Society of Portland and the Rev. John Fairfield Society of Biddeford will take part.

Present officers in the society are Jonathan Bartow, Otisfield, president; Emily Murphy, Salisbury Cove, vice president; Heather Hamilton, Portland, chaplain; Anthony Saucier, Bangor, organizing secretary; Adam Bartow, Otisfield, recording secretary; Joshua Atwood, Machias, treasurer; Meredith Atwood, Machias, registrar; Jessica Tukey, Bristol, historian; Kaitlyn McCormack, Harpswell, librarian-curator. Senior president is Mrs. Jeremiah Jellison Sr. of Salisbury Cove.
