I recently viewed a television commercial for Angus King, independent candidate for governor. This ad showed King with a pack basket, paddle in hand and in the water and no visible personal flotation device — paddling a canoe backward! Why would
King be sitting in the bow of a canoe facing the stern? It is a farce. Is it because his advisers do not know any better? If that is the case, then one would think that a member of Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine would have so advised their endorsed candidate of this inaccuracy.
Mainers be careful. It appears some politicians who try to be all things to all people are all too eager to jump in a canoe and paddle us the wrong way down the river. Dennis J. Wallace Bangor
