FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The University of Maine hockey team led the University of Alaska-Fairbanks 2-1 after the first period of Thursday night’s college hockey game.

The Black Bears got a goal from Trevor Roenick at 13:05 to break a 1-1 tie. Chris Imes and Wayne Conlan assisted on the tie breaker.

The two teams play again Friday and Saturday at 11:30 p.m.
