Jerry Brown, the candidate who won Maine’s 1992 Democratic presidential caucus, will be in Maine on Saturday, Oct. 22, to support independent Rep. John Michael’s campaign for Congress in the 2nd District.

“John Michael is a nationally recognized term limits leader and is the most outspoken proponent for real campaign reform in the Legislature,” said Brown in an advance statement.

The former governor of California, Brown is scheduled to speak at the opening of Michael’s Bangor campaign headquarters at 35 Central St.

Brown and Michael will then take the campaign tour on the road to Ellsworth, where they will be available to meet the public between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. at the Ellsworth Public Library. Brown will also speak at Michael’s fund-raising dinner at 7:30 p.m. at the American Legion, located at 426 Washington St. in Auburn.

Michael was a Brown delegate to the 1992 Democratic National Convention.
