ELLSWORTH — Operation Game Thief was credited with the arrests of two men on night-hunting charges, a spokesman for the Maine Warden Service said.

Christopher Farley, 22, of Trenton and David Kelley, 22, of Ellsworth entered not-guilty pleas at their arraignment in Ellsworth District Court on Nov. 3, where a hearing was set for Dec. 8 on seven counts of night hunting.

The two were charged with night hunting in Lamoine, Ellsworth, Trenton and Surry from Oct. 13 to 22.

A complaint to the Operation Game Thief hot line resulted in Warden Jeffrey Lewis finding parts of six deer in the possession of the two men. The toll-free hot line number is 1-800-ALERT-US.
