PRESQUE ISLE — The Northern Educational Partnership will offer a workshop to address changes in how children from diverse backgrounds are taught, from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Campus Center’s St. John Room at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
The workshop will allow teachers and parents to explore different learning techniques and education technologies. The issues of cultural and ethnic diversity, high rates of single-parent families, and homelessness will be addressed.
Presenters will be JoAnne Putnam, UMPI dean of the school of education and professional studies, and Ruth Giberson, district education supervisor for School District 13 in Perth Andover, New Brunswick.
Putnam and Giberson plan a series of group meetings if interest is shown in the topic. Information is available by contacting the Northern Educational Partnership at 768-2066.
