Alexander lifts UMM to victory

MACHIAS – Janice Alexander made 14 of 16 attempts from the floor and scored 31 points as the University of Maine-Machias Clippers defeated the University of New Brunswick-St. John 75-58 in women’s basketball action Thursday.

Becky Tower added 21 points, 20 rebounds and six assists for the winners.

Patti Melvin scored 20 points to lead New Brunswick. Lisa Schmidt added 14 and Jess Kilpatrick nedtted 11.
