MOUNT DESERT – David Winchester’s two driving layups in overtime helped ice an 83-77 boys basketball victory for Bucksport over Mount Desert Island Tuesday night.
Winchester finished with 26 points, including two 3-point baskets, for the Golden Bucks. Nathan Bowden scored four of his game-high 30 points from the foul line during the final quarter to send the game into overtime knotted 73-73.
Bowden hammered home a game-high 30 points against the scrappy but undermanned Trojans. Greg Gobel added 12 points and Ernie Fitch 10.
For the Trojans, Robert Gilbert led the way with 20 points. Lucas Dunbar had 17, Jason Ashur and Marc Corliss 14 each, and Garric Worcester 12.
