U.S. Rep.-elect John Baldacci will appear on the CBS program “This Morning” shortly before he is sworn in next month.

Baldacci, who was elected to represent the 2nd District in the U.S. House of Representatives, will participate in a roundtable discussion about the 104th Congress at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4. Later that day, Baldacci will take the oath of office, officially succeeding U.S. Rep. Olympia Snowe, who will move on to the Senate.

The segment will feature several members of Congress discussing their expectations for the upcoming session and outlining their goals and objectives for the next two years.

Baldacci, who was recently selected by his colleagues to be vice president of the incoming Democratic freshman class and as one of two regional “whips” charged with acquiring support for New England legislation, expressed his appreciation for being invited to participate in the roundtable and noted that the forum will provide an opportunity to advocate for those issues that are important to Maine people.

“I welcome the chance to speak out about those issues that Maine people care about — the need for quality jobs and educational opportunities, as well as for efforts to make government more responsive and efficient,” Baldacci said in a press release.
