DOVER-FOXCROFT — A 19-year-old Harmony man was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of burglary of a motor vehicle and one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Investigator Scott Richardson of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jason DesJardins after a vehicle that had been stolen Tuesday evening from a Sebec residence was found parked at a Harmony business on Wednesday morning.

Richardson said DesJardins allegedly entered several vehicles in the Sebec area late Tuesday before he left in a 1994 Toyota Tercel. The keys and a purse were left in the vehicle, he said. A truck parked in the same yard also was vand- alized.

Several other Sebec residents reported that their vehicles had been tampered with, including one that had its glove compartment smashed open. A key ring and a buck knife were reported missing from separate vehicles in connection with the incident, according to Richardson.

DesJardins allegedly drove the vehicle to Harmony, parked and locked it, and threw the keys into a wooded area, Richardson said. He told police that he tossed the purse out the window en route to Harmony. The keys were recovered, but not the purse, he said.

DesJardins was home on military leave, Richardson said.
