Lynn E. Browne, senior vice president and director of research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, will be the guest speaker at the annual dinner meeting of the Action Committee of 50 on Wednesday, Jan. 18, in Bangor.
The event, which is open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour at Pilots Grill. A dinner and brief meeting will follow, with Browne scheduled to speak between 8:15 to 9 p.m.
She oversees the operations of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s research department as well as its public and community affairs department.
Browne’s primary responsibilities consist of supporting the president of the Boston Fed in monetary policy deliberations and in overseeing research on economic issues.
Browne’s personal research in recent years has included a study of the role of the services industries in the New England economy and an examination of real estate problems in the region.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario and her doctorate in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
