PRESQUE ISLE – Glenn Sharpe scored 30 points to lead the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls to the 81-74 men’s basketball victory over Husson College of Bangor here Saturday.

For UMPI, now 7-0 in the Maine Athletic Conference, Simon Mitchell had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kirk Lurvey had 10 points.

Bryan Jefferson led Husson with 16 points and Obadiah Johnson added 14. Brian Alley left the game midway through the second half with a cut above his eye.

At Machias, Jagos Medenica scored a game-high 34 points thanks to 14-for-16 shooting from the floor and he also grabbed 12 rebounds to lead UMM past Thomas.

Josh Fannon had 25 points and 13 assists for the Clippers; P.J. Bristol contributed 20 points and 13 rebounds and Corey McPhee and Barry Schramban each tossed in 17 points.

Chris Pearce’s 26 points led Thomas. Scott Hill had 16, Wade Plummer scored 13 points and Mason Dixon had 10.

At Machias on Sunday, Becky Tower scored 18 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and blocked three shots to lead UM-Machias to its first ever Maine Athletic Conference win.

UMM is now 3-14 overall, 1-8 in the MAC. Thomas fell to 5-12, 3-8.

Crystal Euchler had 17 points for the winners; Andrea Leishman had 14 and Arlene Wright scored 11 points.

Tee Fecteau’s 21 points, Angie Ramos’ 15 and Danielle Dupuis’ 12 points led Thomas.
