Orono area farmers plan second market season

ORONO — The Orono Farmers Market will begin its second season on May 20 at the University of Maine steam plant parking lot, offering a variety of fresh produce and baked goods to area residents and visitors.

It will be open from 8 a.m. until goods are sold out every Tuesday and Saturday through Oct. 31.

At a recent meeting, market members voted to impose upon themselves a “no-buy” rule, which requires that members sell only products they grow or make themselves.
