ROCKLAND — The Penobscot Forum will present a slide lecture by Greek native Terry Syminis at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the Penobscot School, 28 Gay St. Syminis will discuss the cultural and political situation in Greece today.

Terry Syminis was born on Lesvos Island, third-largest of the Greek islands. He attended secondary schools in Athens and came to the United States to study molecular biology. He received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Maine. He is a business analyst for Specialty Chemicals Group, a division of FMC Corp., and divides his time between Rockland and Philadelphia. His slides focus on sites of natural beauty and historical significance which would be of interest to the traveler to Greece.

Following the forum at 5 p.m., the public is invited to a potluck supper of Greek food and to learn the “Hasaposerviko,” a social dance that is known throughout the Balkans, Israel and Greece.
